Anne Arundel College was named best in the state.
The County’s community college has been named the best in the state and one of the top three in the country.
“This national honor recognizes institutions that demonstrates an outstanding commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive campus environment,” said Dawn Lindsay, AACC’s president.
Earlier this month, the college also received the 2024 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity Award and welcomed four new members, Jennifer Pastrone, Roxana Rodriguez, Anelle R. Tumminello, and Devin Keller, to the board of trustees appointed by Governor Wes Moore.

Dr. Mark Bedell presents the school scoreboard to the public.
On Monday, the county superintendent for public schools presented the scorecard to the public. The scorecard revealed discrepancies between racial groups, with low math and Engish language performance. The scorecard also included the superintendent’s five-year plan adopted in May.
